Summer Camp 2024

As Summer Camp spaces are filling up all around Tennessee, we’ve decided to kick off our introductory year with a week of Nature Summer Camp! Regular Forest School will begin August 12th, however, we invite your children (ages 5-12) out to enjoy nature and loads of forest play! If you’re not sure about school year fun, come check us out the week of July 15-19th.

1,000 Hours Outside

Camp Magnolia is a dream that combines some of our favorite passions, one of them being a love for the great outdoors. Who doesn’t love the sunshine on their face and being completely immersed in the elements? Well, I’m sure some people may not prefer it, but the benefits of spending time (and a great deal of it) outside speak for themselves.

A great organization we follow is 1,000 Hours Outside. Founded by Ginny Yurick, 1000 Hours Outside is a for-profit, social good company and movement. Her research as found that the average child only gets 4-7 minutes of outdoor free play every day.

It begins with a dream: Camp Magnolia

It was only Summer of 2023 when Lynde and I made plans to meet over sushi and catch up after a few years. We connected back in 2017 and were busy living life until I moved back to Nashville a few years prior to that summer. We talked about life and how she was enjoying being newly married, and I had begun working on a farm. It was this summer I was helping at the farm’s on site school and loving every moment. The idea of holding class predominantly outdoors and letting these kids run wild and free was a dream.
