It begins with a dream: Camp Magnolia

It was only Summer of 2023 when Lynde and I made plans to meet over sushi and catch up after a few years. We connected back in 2017 and were busy living life until I moved back to Nashville a few years prior to that summer. We talked about life and how she was enjoying being newly married, and I had begun working on a farm. It was this summer I was helping at the farm’s on site school and loving every moment. The idea of holding class predominantly outdoors and letting these kids run wild and free was a dream.

Lynde told me about her good friends who ran an outdoor school in East Nashville and how she’s been following their journey for the last several years. We traded resources on homeschool, gardening, homesteading, traveling - and both agreed the life would be to have our own school where the kids could run free.

Only a few months later she had the stellar idea to use her family farm as home base. And a few meetings later, we had a name, a direction, began asking other developed programs our questions - and now we’re set to launch registration. It’s beautifully overwhelming!

As we continue forward, we know our dream will expand. We hope for chickens and a beautiful garden, and kids who can’t wait to get into the forest and begin dreaming up worlds of their own.

It’s only just beginning, and we’re so glad you’re here!
